Religion would be in big trouble if everybody started thinking for themselves.

I had this great sarcastic comment, but in the end, I just completely agree, to the extent that i only go to school now.

My thought: I want you to think in my church! Think and ask questions!
schani (92 months ago | reply)
Gidgetgal: You mean as long as we don't question the "truth" of the bible and your church's interpretation of it?
peterwr (92 months ago | reply)
Amen to that! :-)
gidgetgal (92 months ago | reply)
I want you to quesiton the truth, question interpritations. I do it all the time! If I was to walk into a church and not question, that to me is scary. We all have different perspecitves, different experiences and from this we can learn from each other. I can't force anyone to believe anything they don't and I never try to.

lol ! So it's possible to have this sticker in the US without being killed? Sorry, I'm french, and that's just a joke... Instant fav anyway...

i think in the place where a sticker like this qualifies as a philosophical statement id be praying for dear life in school and thinking about reformation in the church. people carried banners like this in britain and held debates in the streets
120 years ago.
great picture!
a perfect catalyst in a philosophy pigionhole.

OMG ...what an assinine bumper sticker. If you actually THINK, there is a glaring fallacy. Dictating someone NOT to pray anywhere is as worse as forcing someone to pray. LOL the sticker is actually contradicting the intended message. This reminds of the "No Blood for Oil" bumper stickers on SUVs and trucks to protest the Gulf War.

This image has made a lot of people think and opened up a debate, which can't be bad by anybody's standards!

For my money the best bumper sticker ever is one (just one) I saw several years ago: "Support a lawyer. Become a physician."
groonk (92 months ago | reply)
i want that sticker!

Sounds like a great recipe for repression.
0ne [deleted] (92 months ago | reply)
are you kidding photogs? and everyone else who wants to defend adding religion to our schools? this is brilliant. BRILLIANT. i wish more people would agree to divide church and state. like our president.

Nobody should be made to pray, but to tell someone they can't is oppression. That's was the model of government Stalin pushed several years ago in the Soviet Union.

I've considered putting this one on my car, but I'm affraid of what some "christian's" might do to the car because I might have offended them.

A good argument for the separation of government and education. Once the government is out of the indoctrination business then people can make a choice as to what type of school they want their rugrats to attend.

wut deffines church and school!
thay are the same so deal with prayer in school!
its as common as your everyday sinner!
tantek (85 months ago | reply)
FoTommEn, ask your friends what is the difference and see what they say. One of the reasons (perhaps the main reason) that I posted this photo was to inspire discussion of the topic, and asking of questions like the question you asked. For example, your last statement refers to "your everyday sinner", which begs the question, according to what notion of sin? Or even is there really such a thing as sin other than what various tribes of humans invented many centuries ago?

Funny and empty-headed.

School - Teaches that which is known.
Church - Teaches that which is believed.
Faith = believing something you know isn't true.
