iBook G4 dead by kernel panics upon boot etc. in less than four months since I got it. :(

My wife's iBook has a kernel crash just about every hour. Might be a HD issue though. Any idea what caust this one?

It is occuring every time on boot. Sometimes when the grey spinner is up. Sometimes on the login screen. Sometimes just after I've logged in. It "feels" like a hardware problem - something is loose or too warm etc.

My last two macs, a G3 iBook and a G5 iMac, have been plagued with hardware problems. Apple also replaced my 60 GB iPod because of hardware problems. So far my G4 iBook has had no issues though (knocks on wood). It's weird because prior to these experiences every Mac I've ever owned has been rock solid.
