We Hope...

We Hope...

that it is just an infection.

Tuesday Sadie was not herself and by Wednesday night she was very sick. She had been pacing, panting and going to her water dish and then backing away from it. We took her to an emergency hospital an hour away from us at three in the morning. I was afraid it was bloat. Her stomach x-ray was fine. The only thing the doctor found was that Sadie would whimper very softly (goldens are known for their stoicism) when the doctor pulled her head to the left side. They gave her a shot for immediate relief and medication for the pain later. When we got home we raised her water dish and she drank. We figure it was too painful for her to put her head down to drink.

Later that morning I took Sadie to her vet for an examination. She was still panting and stressed. An x-ray of her neck was taken and a mass was found. We decided to put Sadie on an antibiotic. We wanted to rule out an infection first.

We are taking her in the morning for the mass to be aspirated and sent in to a lab. We should get the results on Monday. It doesn't seem to be getting better although it has not been treated for long. I don't want to wait and see any longer.

This not knowing and not doing is terrible.

Let's Play

Let's Play

Grace has been here more because her "other" babysitter had her baby at Christmastime. I usually have her on Mondays and Fridays and her babysitter would have her the rest of the week. I love having her here. It does take a lot of energy though! ; )

I haven't been processing or uploading my pictures to flickr or doing as much commenting these days because I have been busy with Gracie.

Here is one of she and Sadie having fun in snow. They both love to be outside.

I am sad about Picnik ending; I am going to miss them. : (

No Body Just A Pair of Jeans

No Body Just A Pair of Jeans

This is one I didn't upload at the time. Here we are getting a diaper change. I pulled off her jeans and slippers in one pull. And just hurriedly put them above her on the bed then after the diaper change I noticed how funny it looked.

Adding to the Landscape

Adding to the Landscape

...during our morning walk. Something so magical and peaceful being out in a gentle snow fall.

This is a different perspective than I usually take. I am typically on the other side of Sadie when we take pictures in the front yard "weeds". I like the barn in the background. She is such a good model and is so cooperative . She got some treats after this session. I took maybe three different shots with the background being at different angles. This one was the best.

Another "feather in my cap" : ) ; Explore #238
