Mt Kilimanjaro 1

During our trip in the Kimana National Reserve, the weather was quite cloudy, and the Kilimanjaro was almost never visible. It only got visible during a few minutes, but still staying foggy, it's why I could only get a medium quality shot of it...

Made it in Explore, #104, August 22nd 2007.

I have the same memory. We stayed at a tent lodge - i think it was in Amboseli. All afternoon there were heavy low clouds hanging in the sky - which made for a great view of an elephant herd with young in a fantastic sunset. We slept in tents that night (scary!) and awoke to this kind of sight. It was breathtaking!

Thank you for bringing back those wonderful memories with this outstanding image. I noticed the vegetation and red road first in your photo and immediately knew it was Africa.
