Sugar coated distant fells.

Sugar coated distant fells.

This was about the only sunlight we saw while we were on top of the fells.. the clouds parted just enough to give us a taster of what it could have looked like :-)
My wife mentioned the sugar coating..

Better on black :-)

It's odd, I like close ups like this, yet other folks don't seem so keen, I always seem to get more comments on the wider shots. I like this because of the contrast between Side Pike and the snow capped Langdale Pikes almost disappearing in the misty white clouds.. I think taking close ups like this give folks a better appreciation of the size... straight out of the camera.
The title, well there's one side of Side Pike on the left and on the right is one side of Langdale Pikes.. ok I shouldn't have bothered.. lol.

Take a look on Black.

Ps. the BBC have asked me for a couple of photo's to use in the Spring Edition of Country File Magazine.. not sure if they are going to use them both but I reckon they are only going to use them as small images this time :-)

A rare chance to get a decent reflection on this day.. even a bit of decent sky.. I did have a look at the fence that runs out into the water, looks too new :-)

This is a big stitch of 15 landscape photo's.. it's best viewed original and panned across, you get a better idea of what the view is like from up there. There was no magical light, just full cloud cover, yet there is magic, it's in the wonderful scenery :-)

Please click the link below, give it time to load and then pan across, I think it's like being up there.. without the icy winds of course :-)

I've tried to keep this hdr subtle, the distant fells didn't show up as well as I would have liked, the hdr brings them out.
I like the contrast between the close rocks and the distant fells.

On black is the way to view it :-)
