Have laptop, will travel

Trying to get my old toy to play nice with my new toy.
New toy!
Rubik's Cube. I think my record time to solve one was about a minute and a half.
The Glenlivet
Junky old computer I'm likely to throw out soon.
Subway club card
Software and data backups.
KVM switch. Yes, I actually have four computers connected to this.
Shortwave radio, where I have not been listening to CBC lately. Darn labour dispute.
Have laptop, will travel by T a k.
Today is my last day of work before a two-week vacation. I'm going to be travelling for about ten days or so.

My first stop will be Toronto, where a friend of mine is getting married on Saturday. Then, I'm not sure. I'll just drive wherever I want! My most likely route will be to start from Niagara Falls and slowly following the lake back to Ottawa.

Wherever I decide to go, I intend to keep connected with this little beast (that is, the laptop), and of course, I'll be uploading photos from my trip as I go.

This photo was partly a test to see if I could transfer a picture from my camera to the laptop (via the PDA) and then post it to flickr. Obviously, it worked. Woohoooo!

Thanks.

I might have to turn in my geek card, but I'm a complete ignoramus when it comes to wireless. The laptop has it, but I wasn't going to use it.

Could you define "hotspot" for me?

Wireless internet access. Coffee shops, hotels, airports, train stations have wireless internet access. Some charge for it and some provide it for free. Check out Starbucks, etc. You should be able to open your laptop, detect a signal, and then open a browser. At that point you should get a splash page with login instructions for the service provider.

That Rubik's Cube is easy to solve. Just get a screwdriver and pry out a corner piece and then take it a part and put back together. That laptop is sweet. I Heard That a laptop is convenient. For instance you can take it to a diner and sit down and use it. You could order a burger and then use your computer.
