I thought this Double-crested Cormorant had bitten off more than he could chew with this large Mullet. But he sure fooled me and didn't seem to have any problem getting it down in just a few gulps.

Glittering Prize ( Music and lyrics by Simple Minds)

Shine On, Shine the Light on me,

In all of my Life so that much more I see

In the Light of his Love

In the Light of reflection

Oh what a world

Or sometimes oh so it seems

Eyes in the skies

In that silver gift friendship

A Glittering Prize

Is it the prize of lost loves

They can remember quiet sides of midnight

They can remember the attraction of fame

Like a Glittering Prize

I saw up on a clear day

First taking hearts

Then our last breath away

Always came a time - time was on our side

We were spending time - we were staring out

Catch me in a dream - Captured all in heart

We were spending time - we were staring out

Could there ever be - ever more than one

It's called an act of Love

Can you you never stop?

Shine On, Shine the Light on me,

In all of my Life

So much more I see

Like a Glittering Prize

I saw you up on a clear day

First taking heart then our last breath away

Only on a clear day coming into our lives

See it in the eye - satellite skies

We were spending time - we were staring out

Take in, Take in more - The Endless breath away

We were spending time - we were staring out

Could there ever be - ever more than one

It's called an act of Love

Can you you never stop?

Always on a clear day

Crashing into our lives

Is it the Price of Love

Like a Glittering Prize

Always on a clear day

Crashing into our lives

With your love

Only on a clear day

Polliwog and tadpole are different words for the same thing. Both words refer to the larval stage of both frogs and toads. Although experts can differentiate many tadpoles by species, all have gills, eyes, a tiny mouth, and a fin-like tail. The metamorphosis from this larval form swimming in a watery environment to adult amphibian with legs and lungs adapted to life out of water is a journey fraught with danger. Among the hazards are numerous predators of various types, and uncertain environmental conditions. Few tadpoles will survive to become adult frogs or toads.

He is only the second Frenchman to be honored with the prestigious award.

Christian de Portzamparc was the first.

an impressive list of structures worldwide bearing his bold, eclectic design.

Just got back from a fantastic few days in Griffith NSW, with the family. Got to catch up with some great friends whilst there, and we had a blast!!

Headed out to Lake Wyangan on the Friday afternoon, after arriving, to scout out a comp fro the following morning. Sure enough, after checking with my compass, there were comps everywhere I looked, so I left a happy man.

The next morning, off I went at 6am, on what was a 15 min drive from our Motel.

Thought Id give myself around 15 mins before first light, to pick the correct comp, depending on how the cloud was looking, wind etc etc.

Found this comp, set up, and waited. 15 mins before sunrise, the sky was starting to get nice and red, but it was still quite dark.

5 mins before sunrise, still dark, and I'm beginning to scratch my head. At this stage, these trees should be getting some nice light on them from the rising sun to my left, but...nothing.

Out with the phone, good ol google, and onto my app for sunrise time.

6.55am...sunrise....SYDNEY!!!

DOH!!!

I type in Griffith NSW.....and Yay! (Not)

7.20am....sunrise Griffith

Paddy here forgot to calculate that I was now the best part of 6 hours inland from the horizon IN SYDNEY, and that sunrise here might just be a tad later....

Anyhow, the sun did eventually come up, and lit my trees and grasses, as I had planned, and I was happy out (eventually, after freezing my Irish Ass off for the best part of an hour waiting for it to happen).

A great spot, fantastic for bird watchers, better for Landscape Photographers.

Hope you like "Glittering Prize"

Cheers, Mike

One of the fish that we caught on that fishing trip - off the coast of Goa

This is my prize shot and the one that will be on the cover of my book. While the rest of the group moved on, I waited for that cloud to move into the ideal positiion. Numberous shots prior to this have the cloud to the right and result in a less balanced shot. No cloud and it's to plain. The shadows and the ever so slightly green toned foreground brush contribute to breakup the veins in the red sand.

It was Tom our guide, who presented this area to our group. Money well spent to get just the right light and an area only Navajo are aloud to enter.

This photo of Inukshuk bathing alone in the trysting pool has won First Prize in Photo Life's Image International 2010 Photo Contest's Nature Category. It will be published in their February/March, 2011 issue.

Many buildings in Ummerstadt have been fixed up nicely in recent years. These two, though, seem to have gone all out. If there was a city beautification contest, they would have won the prizes! Which one's first and which one's second? A tough call, that one! [FUJI6349_lr_2000]

Thank you all for the clicks, comments & faves.

Won the grand prize and the 'Canon shot of the year' award of the photography competition - 6th annual Nature through lens photography competition - organized by Wildlife Conservation Nepal with this photo. Moreover, I was dazzled to find that I was the first winner who was given a perfect 100 by all the judges in this competition; a feat which was never achieved before. This is a national level annual photography competition where, this time, 204 amateur and professional photographers alike were participating. There were around 600 photographs submitted by them. I feel this is the greatest achievement I have had since I started photography two years ago. I would like to thank my mentor Mr. Om Prakash Yadav for the great help he has given me in these two years while tutoring me in this field. I would also like to thank my parents who have always supported me in every thing I do. I want to thank WCN for their yearly efforts to give young photographers in Nepal a platform to come out and show their caliber. And last but not the least, all my flickr friends specially Paul-a.k.a Litch~~~, JCIV, George a.k.a Photophool, the Canon Powershot S5 IS group and members like Kierobau, JGo9.. who have helped me so much these past two years! Thank you so much all!! :))

I am trying to talk myself into parting with some of my favorite things.. we have to do some things to get our debt down and so UGH its so hard to do.. I dont want to do it but over the last 7 Years of Blythe collecting I have WAY too much Crud, I just wish it was easier to kick to the curb.. I admit Im a Blythe clothing Hoarder :(

2nd Prize at "2nd National Photographi Art Exhibition"

Strange title you might say but there is a reason. On this particular evening a couple of friends and I had planned to do a sunset shoot at Elvaston castle, which was fine until a couple of security officers decided to inform us that taking pictures of the castle was not permitted especially with pro camera's (in their words anything bigger than a smartphone )... rather than argue the toss and miss the chance of capturing what looked like a terrific sunset ,we promptly left amd sought alternative locations, as Shardlow is literally a couple of miles down the road we sped off at a gentle pace (Not)...when we arrived at Shardlow wharf the sunset colours were in full swing so it was shoot like mad and hopefully capture something of a consolation prize...hence the title.

P.s...The manager of Elvaston park was emailed the very next day and was horrified that the officers had behaved in that way as this action was not official policy whatsoever.
