Cross stitch of the map from the Game Boy Color version of Zelda - Link's awakening.
Finished size 24,5 x 22 cm (≈9,6 x 8,6 inches), 160 x 144 pixels.
Cross stitch map of the first world of Super Mario Bros 3. Finished size 34 x 28 cm.
Due to request: I didn't use a pattern when I made this one. I simply took a screen shot from the game and zoomed in real close so I could see and count the pixels. One pixel=one stitch. If you view the picture with a grid it makes it easier to work with.
If you want to make a chart of any video game image there's a good tutorial at Sprite stitch: www.spritestitch.com/?p=391
Good luck!
My old server machine started locking up frequently, and I couldn't isolate the cause. (I think I narrowed it down to the motherboard or CPU itself.) Rather than spend a small fortune swapping out components, I decided a "new" PC was in order.
I found this refurbished Dell Optiplex 7050 online for about $200. It came with 32GB RAM and a new 500GB NVMe drive. There's room in the SFF case for a single 3.5" hard drive, so I installed one of my old 2TB drives. I'll probably buy a larger SATA drive on sale during Black Friday, as SMART reports that it's been running for 9+ years (that's actual total UP time - not merely its age)!
Anyway, I've installed Linux Mint 21.2. This morning I got file and print sharing configured for everyone on our home network again. It's also running Folding@Home, but on the lowest setting. These SFF cases are nice, but cooling is an issue. I'm definitely pushing it on the CPU temp, but staying well below critical.
Of course, I have all my figurines set up around it. I own my geekiness. :)
A little stitching I made of Nibbler from Futurama.
He's stitched up with back stitch, satin stitch, long-and-short stitch, and french knots. He stands (well, sits) around three inches tall, and is mounted in a four-inch frame.
Read more about it on my blog.
A pastime to relax from the big cross stitch that never would end.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! :o)
Marvel Comics character, the ever-lovin', blue-eyed Thing (member of the Fantastic Four), for Matt's birthday.
Hand knit, my tallest peep so far, and took me ages! :o) He's double-knitted (correction: knitted in the round on two circular needles), in one piece from the feet to the neck with the toes, arms, and head added after.
Update: He was a success with Matt who says he's "cool"! Hurray! :o)

This was the cake I made for the groom, one of my best buds on the planet. He's a pacman master so the Bride requested this for him. The top is made of Super Sculpey and the rest is just cake :)

Last month, I bought a 'Firefly' pattern off Etsy. I used it to design my own pattern of the Tenth Doctor and his companions.
I’m mostly pretty happy with the way it turned out. Some of the colors aren’t quite right. I think Rose’s hair is a little too yellow and Donna’s hair is a little too orange, but I was limited to the materials I had on hand (mainly the leftovers from the Firefly design). Martha’s shirt and jacket are too different color reds, but it’s really hard to tell since they’re so similar. I wish I’d had a different red for her shirt.
Here's my latest cross stitch. I had a bunch of different ideas while doing this, though. Like "Home is where the Nintendo is" and what not.
I made patterns for them all. You can get them over at thedomesticscientist.com

Materials: Acrylics and Mixed Media on Canvas

I had alot of fun painting this, I love experimenting with texture, paint effects and ink, the pixels were as always extremely time consuming but I like the freeness of the background combined with the ridged squares of colour.

It's decided. Zoey is going to be a squirrel for Halloween.
I'd say it's not official, but chances of me going out of my way to find something amazing on the "interweb"...are pretty slim. So this is it.
Maybe if I get an overhead Pacman costume, I can manage to walk around with her and get some candy for myself. Kid at heart ;]

The Incredible Hulk for Matt's Birthday with his best bud, Lambie Pie.
My largest peep yet at 15" tall and nearly as wide! and most challenging.
Knitted in one piece from toes to head with arms made separately. Toes and fingers in one piece with hands/feet and arms/legs too. I'll post how-to notes for making toes and fingers this way, in the future.

Second 3-D experimenting project, went way better than the first, especially for the ironing part. Once you get the hang of how you have to iron the beads for these types of projects, clicking the pieces together is a breeze.
This bracelet is made with an image of the title character from "Serial Experiments Lain", a very creepy show that explores the boundary between virtual and real life.
The electronic components came from a broken cell phone. The bottle cap-based charm is attached to the bracelet chain with a variety of wires and an alligator clip.
