once again the junta in Burma sentenced Aung San Suu Kyi to 18 months of house arrest. She's already spent 14 years out of the last 20 locked up in her house with no contact to the outside world.

no matter how dark things seem, there is always a little light. May it shine bright real soon...

Traditional fisherman just after sunrise. This shot was taken on the Inlay Lake in the Shan State, one of the most popular regions in Burma. I figured that most typical shots here were actually fake. There are lots of "fishermen" on the lake that will pose for you if you give them 1-2 $ ! I didn't want that so I decided to wake up early in the morning, take a boat cab and drive to the fishing grounds. So I guess this one is a lil bit more authentic than most of the iconic shots. Just search for "inle lake, fisherman" on google. Then you'll know what I mean.

Burma, officially the Union of Myanmar, is the largest country by geographical area in mainland Southeast Asia, or Indochina. The country is bordered by the People's Republic of China on the northeast, Laos on the east, Thailand on the southeast, Bangladesh on the west, India on the northwest, and the Bay of Bengal to the southwest with the Gulf of Martaban and Andaman Sea defining its southern periphery. One-third of Burma's total perimeter, 1,930 kilometers (1,199 mi), forms an uninterrupted coastline.

A British unit are moving through the dense jungles of Burma crossing through the swamp whilst always on the lookout for Japanese patrols. I made a British Pacific MOC this time with my new brodies. Hope you like it... :)

The Shwedagon pagoda in Burma's capital, Yangon, is one of the biggest Pagodas in the world and at least the most important Shrine in Myanmar. It is said that the Pagoda was built 2500 years ago before the decease of the historical Buddha, Gautama Siddharta. More than 60 t of Gold on it, more than 30m high, surrounded by 60 tiny golden stupas and a 76 karat diamond on it: One of the most impressive shrines I've ever seen ! Must See in Burma.

This is a panoramic shot, I used a ND 1000 filter but some of the ghosts are still visible.
