Made for Hailey's baptism today.

Marble cake with chocolate and vanilla butter cream filling

The cake I did for my son's 1st bday. First time doing this design (inspired by Rouvelee @ Rouvelee's Creations and Dot @ Cupcakes by Design , Pastrychick)

10"x6"x6"H Cake made of dark mud, white mud, dark mud, layered in cookies 'n' cream buttercream, covered in dark choc ganache.

First time doing a Tatty Teddy. Made of fondant and fur piped in RI (my daughter said it looked scary b/c the fur was spikey, thanks to my not-so-good piping skills)

The butterflies were Mum's idea, Elizabeth's nursery is decorated with butterflies (not real ones obviously!!) - I think they work rather well!, they were made with a patchwork cutter that I had bought a while ago for a wedding cake that in the end never happened ... glad they have seen the light of day!.

Butterflies are cut from sugar flower paste ( the cutters just got clogged up when I tried them with plain fondant). ... I am offically no longer a patchwork cutter virgin!!!

Marble cake filled with vanilla buttercream.

Funny story.....this cake never got picked up!! not soo funny =( I totally got stiffed! no word or nothing from the customer!!!

Hubby took it to work for his work mates after a day of waiting. No sense in letting it go to waste...I kept the teddy though ; )

Bottom tier vanilla cake filled with vanilla buttercream. Top tier is chocolate cake filled with chocolate buttercream

A repeat design of our 'Charlie' cake, but this time in pink, and for a Christening.

A christening and 1st birthday cake.

Design is based on client's invitation, and on a cake done by Lisa of Sweet Disposition Cakes (with permission).

Bird topper is made of styro and fondant. Name is hand cut.

Both tiers are chocolate cake filled and crumbcoated in chocolate buttercream.

I used the air brush to silver luster the circles I used for the cross. I thought this was a simple design...but still took a fair bit of time just to glue all those circles!!

A baby blue and chocolate brown baptism / christening cake with white polka dots for a baby boy. This cake was designed to match the "Tiny Prints" invitations for this event. This cake was created by www.fortheloveofcake.ca

The finished article!

A 10 inch tangy lemon sponge with lemon buttercream & lemon curd filling.

(mmm)

... Oh & yes, i did cheat a little teeny tiny bit! ... the piping!.. my hands are so wobbly again at the moment (long story: side effects of new inhalers!) that I decided to type the lettering I wanted and then laid the paper over the cake and pricked through with a sterile pin and then just joined the dots! - my piping has never been so neat! (think I'll be doing that again! - well, every cloud has a silver lining eh!) ;-)

I couldn't resist this!

I just love to see frilly knickers on tiny babies!

Poor Mr purple bunny nearly lost his head! .. it has slid forwards and his collar is gaping at the back!

I was so worried I'd mess this one up because my daughter's name is Anna Lilly, I had nighmares that I'd put the names the wrong way round. Anyway, matches the invitation.

Gumpaste Teddy bear angel topper.

A Baptism Cake for Lyla. Inspired by this one done by Pink Cake Box www.flickr.com/photos/pinkcakebox/594818760/

12/15/07

Handmade from flower paste (by me!.. and Im rather pround of this one!).

(the hair and eye lashes are feather).

Proud Mum & Dad want to keep the cake topper so it wont be eaten! (good job with the addition of feather!). The blanket was supported by a piece of plastic beneath which will also make removal of the topper easy (and thus avoid damaging it as its only anchored to the cake with the smallest dab of icing).

Even though in these pics it looks like her ear is made in the wrong colour paste - I think its the was the light hit the picture! (it looks fine in reality!)

This cake is for Elizabeth (the same wee one I made the welcome stork for way back in May!). She is to be baptised this Sunday.

The butterflies were Mum's idea, Elizabeth seems to have lots of butterfly things in her nursery so they have become a family favourite!. - there are even more butterflies around the base of the cake.

Nick & Nati's BEAUTIFUL Baptism Cake made by Lucila's in So. Miami. It was a two tiered rum cake in green and ivory fondant.

This baby block baptism cake is on a 2 foot by 3 foot base and each block of cake is an 8" cube. Edible diaper pins, teddy bears and baby booties adorn the board around this baby boy's baptism cake. Created by www.fortheloveofcake.ca in Toronto

This is my nephew's little brother's Baptism cake.

It was a white chocolate coconut mudcake filled with milk chocolate ganache. Covered in Bakel's fondant.

This cake was inspired by a cake on flickr by Andrea Schwarz. The baby's mum saw this cake and liked it. Then when i sketched a cake like it with blue flowers and bows, she said it looked too girly, so this is the design i came up with incorporating the little cherub/angel.

This is the inspiration cake

I think this cute floppy bunny is rather cute (though I say so myself!!), not to mention rather teeny-tiny! (thats not his tongue hanging out its a smart pink floppy bow round his neck!)

His little head kept drooping toward the bible! (how freaky is that!)

Blanket detail is from an embosser which came as part of a set sent to me by the lovely, kind & totally insiprationally wonderful woman we all know as Kate! (Kavingate!) - thanks mate! - I know thats not what the mats were for (they were for a cookie set) - but when I needed inspiration - there they were!! - rather a pretty border don't you think!?!

This cake was for my godson's christening, I love making cakes for people I care about! The topper & blocks are handmade from gumpaste, this was a really fun one to make.
