This Boomer remembers this brochure quite well. It scared the high holy craps outta me even though I was just a kid. Looking back, I'm proud that my youthful self was able to see through the happy-white-people-just-making-time in the shelter baloney.

No wonder us Baby Boomers are so f*cked up.

I think the best part of this is, total nuclear war and the end of civilization as we know it, and the father is smoking a pipe chillin in his "new" favorite chair. this reminds me of those Jet liner pamphlets on what to do when you're crashing to the ground at like 500mph... smile and carefully put on your life vest and air mask.
