Life from Sand

Life from Sand

These trees and foliage were growing in the sand dunes in Pinery Provincial Park on Lake Huron in Ontario. I was amazed to see how tall some of the trees could grow in the sand. Infrared photo.

2012's first snow

2012's first snow

Today we had the first proper snowfall of the year, and as expected it was a bit of mayhem in the city. Here you see the first streetcar in 30 minutes arriving for customers to board.

Shot on a snowproof Olympus digicam.

Out of fuel

Out of fuel

Red Rocket Coffee was one of my favorite haunts in the east end. The coffee was good and the huge muffins were a meal onto themselves. Unfortunately, the lease has run out and the cafe closed two weeks ago on Queen st east and is moving to the Danforth.

I walked by today and noticed they removed the red lettering from the building, but what was left behind had to be captured before it too is gone.

Luckily the neighbourhood still has great coffee just down the road at Voulez-Vous.

Infrared photo, best enjoyed large.
