Salt-lover or playing with 'art'?

I wonder where Miss Ladybird came from. Maybe I smuggled her in with the hyacinths which are now open. It kept running frantically all over the painting, I just had to wait for the right spot :)

Boat, Jeanne and mother-bird

Boat, Jeanne and mother-bird

Many churches here have a ceiling shaped like a ship's hull.
The window shows Jeanne d'Arc hearing voices as she was keeping her sheep and later during the coronation of Charles VII. She's been in the news recently as Sarkozy celebrated her 600th birthday and declared she belonged to no party, no faction (the far-right nationalists around Marine LePen see her as their idol).
It looks like an eagle but is actually a pelican, who is thought to give its own flesh to its little ones. It comes from 'Abraham' meaning Father Pelican and also that the bird opens its beak and feeds its little ones in regurgitating the fish.

Eglise d'Orval (11th century)

Eglise d'Orval (11th century)

Sitting on a hill facing the cathedrale of Coutances.
Again those peculiar entrances for the dead or for the living (can't remember :( and couldn't find the information anywhere).
