holding on to a butterfly like this can very
likely kill it. Its wings are very delicate
and the oils on your fingers will take a lot
the scales off it, rendering it flightless,
and consequently, it will die.

My friend was careful enough to release it
immediately. It was flying as before, so I
don't think we endangered it.
