Was the mural in the Latino area of Chicago? Your sense of humor and photography are striking.

No, the mural is in a well trafficked hipster area

I know I've seen it, but cannot really place it.
Is it in the alley leading to The Alley?

yes, you are correct. I thought this would be easier to guess, but apparently not enough people explore alleys on a regular basis. ;)

I would have guessed , but it would have been just a guess. I don't think I''ve been to the Alley since 1989, lol.

The tow sign is appropriate for The Alley. That guy sure loves to tow cars! They just wait for you to park and then slap a $120 boot on your car (sorry, my bitterness is showing).

Is there an artist's name on the painting? I wonder it might be by JJ Hegerida, a local graffiti artist. Some time in the early 80s he did a whole series of black and white paintings of rock and soul musicians (including Prince, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Jim Morrison and several others) on the rocks north of Foster Avenue Beach. They're all gone now, but this painting is very much in the same style.

Interesting. I did look for a signature, but didn't see one. Thanks for the info, I like to credit artists whenever I can.

They have since painted over this (I think). I moved out of the neighborhood last October. That alley next to The Alley was right behind my house. :D

Could some kind soul translate what Rue89 wrote? My French is woefully inadequate.
