Love is an intense feeling of affection related to a sense of strong loyalty or profound oneness.
Prophet Muhammad said that If God loves one of His creation, then God says to Angel Gabriel, "I love so and so". So Gabriel also loves such and such a person and Gabriel calls out to heaven saying "God loves so and so" and the residents of heaven then also love so and so.
"As for those who believe and engage in righteous actions, the All-Merciful will bestow His love upon them" [Quran, chapter Mary]
