Pistachio chocolate balls
I came across these sweets strolling the streets of Shenzhen, China. True, they aren't traditional Chinese, and the chocolate doesn't taste like European chocolate (but better than American chocolate); they are however still quite tasty, with the pistachio giving the right crunch. Pistachio is a small tree up to 10 meters tall, native to mountainous regions of Iran, Turkmenistan and western Afghanistan. It has deciduous pinnate leaves 10–20 cm long. The fruit is a drupe, containing an elongated seed with a hard, whitish shell and a striking light green kernel, having a characteristic flavour, which can be seen here coating the chocolate balls.
