Nursing A Baby Squirrel

    Prev Next

My -> girlfriend's -> sister's -> boyfriend found them left alone in a machine left at a construction site. My girlfriend's sister is now taking care of them, but we try to stop by and help whenever possible.

4 squirrels were found: 2 boys and 2 girls.
This is my girlfriend feeding one of the girls.

Too cute. What are you going to do with them in the long run? Are you going to release them back into the wild or keep them as pets?

    9. (Alex) 93 months ago | reply

Looks like my girlfriend's sister is planning on keeping them. So far they are doing very well, and enjoying themselves plenty.

Too cute! My dad is in construction, and when I was younger, he brought home little rescued animals like these - my favorites were a hyperactive baby turtle, and a family of little hedgehogs. :-)

HOW LUCKY they are that you all helped them out!!!!!
      I just found 7 infants today...5 boys and 2 girls.LOL..
I brought them to a vet who is caring for all 7 while me and my girlfriend try to rescue the mom..who appears to be injured...but in my girlfriends back yard.............(I posted 2 pics of the babies...on my flickr site if you want to take a peek!)

how are these lil' ones doing?? I think it's great that your g/fs sis is going to keep them!!!!!!

D47, the end of the story:
The two girls did not make it.... sadly.
But one of the boys was let out in my now wife's sister's backyard.
And they see him still from time to time, stopping by to say hi.
My wife and I took care of the last boy (Nutters) and eventually let him out in our back yard.
He's doing great. We see him very often.
You can see some more recent shots of him at the end of this set.

Awww, Alex..I'm sorry to hear the two girls didn't make it....
it's so sad....but....at least they had a better chance at life having been FOUND at that construction site..............and cared for........
