KFOG KABOOM in the Fog
Got together with a few flickr contacts of mine last night to shoot the KFOG KABOOM fireworks. KFOG is a local radio station and they sponsor/organize the annual fireworks show in May. Unfortunately, this year's fireworks was completely fogged in. But we made the best out of the situation. After all...where else on Earth does one get to see fireworks in the fog? Not a lot of places, I bet.
We did some jumping group shots before ending the night. All in all a wonderful get together.

I wondered if you'd be at that spot again after getting such an outstanding fireworks shot last year... The fog this year may have prevented a more traditional shot, but this is really cool and unique. Great work!

I always enjoy visiting your photostream with lots of great photos, some of them even truly breathtaking. This one is another pearl and I find it fascinating beyond belief - not only the gorgeous view, but the way you composed it, too.
In case this is cropped, I think it could use slightly more space on the top. Besides, I'd see to it that the lamp on the bottom isn't cut - you could crop it out entirely or give it just a little bit more space, too.
But mind you, this is a miraculous view nonetheless!

The starkness of the left side reminds me of a bomb test. I like that the boats are not moving, a bunch got underway after the first few minutes of fireworks.

Wow very nice job. I was there as well, somewhere in the flock of people that showed up at that spot. The fog was a bit disappointing, but being my first time at this spot I was in awe of the view. I'd seen these pictures so many times, but seeing it in person was something else. Timing the proper exposure with the reflectivity of the clouds was definitely a challenge.
