I decided to pop into town during my lunchtime and see if I could spot the Royal Family. Prince William, Earl of Strathearn was awarded Scotlands Highest Honour - Knight of the Thistle by the Queen in a ceremony in St Gyles Cathedral as part of the Queens visit to Scotland. I saw the Royal procession back to Holyrood palace including the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl and Countess of Strathearn (William and Kate) and Princess Anne. There were about 400 people in pipe bands in a precession beforehand.
On Sunday, there was an event called Big Dance in town with various stages and performances all day. In the Grassmarket there was a world record attempt at the biggest tea dance and everyone did the foxtrot to the sounds of a Big Band.
