I could not decide if I wanted the background behind the blossom to be black, or brighter. I choose this, but in retrospect I should have taken both. (I am shooting digital after all, so it's free...)

I think the blue (both dark and light) brings out the blue in the pink petals nicely... also, much darker would have been too much contrast... good choice.
