[on the banks of the cauveri] [forgotten wayside temple]

[on the banks of the cauveri] [forgotten wayside temple] by Susheel Chandradhas.
These pictures were taken when on an assignment to the historical city of Thanjavur (Tanjore)... These photographs were taken on the brilliant Fuji Finepix S2 Pro. I'd hired the camera for the shoot and found that it was just brilliant to use... feels great, shoots great colours... colour balance changed in RAW

You have to vote before you post
There is sound reasoning behind this, vote & all will be revealed

The colors look unnatural, nothing great about either shot

Glad to know you have been voting

Kitsch in a double package does not make one better image.

Maybe having only one picture, but both seems a bit too much for me.

try a long exposure (min. 5 minutes) sun capture next. it'll change your position towards photography.

neither of them would stand alone, but together they are just horrible.

true,
nervousness is poison for long exposures.
kraut is close to a worst case scenario if on a sensor.
well, maybe not in this case.

Not too excited about the left picture but I do like the one on the right. I'm torn.

OK. After reading the Hall of Shame discussion it looks like I was too soft in giving the saveme vote. But I am not sure if I am allowed to change my vote so I will let it stand. It doesn't look like this will make it into the safe anyhow. If it was just the picture on the left - definite deleteme. If it was just the picture on the right - saveme.

It seems like the entering of two pictures to decide. Well, I like the one on the right better, if it means anything.

a diptych of two mediocre images is not the makings of great art

neither one could stand on it's own and the grouping of them seems completely arbitrary except the sky is in both?

@cgyguy: a delete is what should have happened in your case... ;)

@Carolyn: thanks for the meaningful comment... the grouping is based, in part on the strong, unrealistic colours, and the sky... I'll work on it though!

Damn never realized RAW captured the hue beautifully. Gotta shoot with RAW more often, love the blue tone
