A university assignment. We have to design a reusable package and a store display for a sport footwear. I've chosen swimming and a pair of male sandals to inspire me. It's a preview render of the store display with one of my roughs for the project. I'm thinking about putting some textures on it to emulate the materials even though the teacher did not ask for this kind of realism. But I'm a Photoshop freak and i can't help it :)

Este é um trabalho que realizei para a aula de Animação e Vídeo. A proposta era fazer um pôster de filme fora dos clichês usualmente aplicados para a produção deste tipo de peça gráfica. Escolhi "O Poderoso Chefão" (The Godfather) porque assisti, virei fã do filme recentemente e comecei a ler o livro. A imagem tinha que necessariamente sintetizar o significado do filme, então escolhi o gesto significativo de cumprimento entre os participantes da família para com o Don. A cor preta dominante, assim como no pôster original, exprime o mistério que ronda os negócios da família e o que acontece dentro dela. A composição foi baseada na regra dos terços e a escolha do canto inferior direito enfatiza, por causa do peso visual, a posição hierárquica do Don perante seus "amigos".

Como modelo para a foto original contei com a brilhante participação do meu pai haha :). Pela total falta de tempo (leia-se procrastinação) para tratar a imagem usei filtros (ARGH) de Photoshop, mas a intenção inicial era vetorizar a imagem. Ainda farei isso um dia, com muita persistência :D

This is an academic work for "Animation and Video" class at college. We had to produce a movie poster avoiding usual design clichés, like showing the main character. The new poster should explain the meaning of the film for itself. I chose The Godfather because I had watched it recently and I started reading the book in english, becoming a fan of it. To synthetize the film I picked out the greeting gesture between the Family members and Don. The overriding black colour, as well as in the original poster, symbolize all the mystery around the Family business. Composition was based in the rule of thirds and the bottom right choice enphasizes the hierarchical position of the Don.

My dad had a brilliant participation on this poster, it's his hand on the picture :P On account of procrastination I had to use some Photoshop filters (ARGH), but the initial inttention was to vectorize the picture.
