Women's Garden, Kabul, Afghanistan

The project, initiated by Afghanistan's Ministry of Women's Affairs, is supported by the French and Japanese governments, the European Union and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ). The aim is to create a space where Afghan women can throw off their burqas and veils and be themselves. Men are not allowed inside the walls of the garden with the exception of boys under the age of twelve.
