House of the Rising Cake (still Surly)'s photostream  

The final design has the Weed Man logo across the fence but I can't show it due to copyrights.

The little house is made from rice crispies and gumpaste and everything else is gumpaste. The grass on the board is coloured coconut. I was going to put it on the cake too but there was so much colour in it that I figured it wouldn't be very nice to eat so just kept it to the board. Those are little bags of Weed Man lawn fertilizer leaning against the house.

I had a horrible time with the piping. I think I scraped it off and redid it about 10 times. Stupid shaky hands. : (

The other side with the fertilizer bags. They're little. About a cm long. The house is about 4"x2". It's sitting on a 5" round board.

My client just sent me some photos of the cake with the topper. And she raved about the cake itself...she had 2 pieces! It really is the best vanilla cake I've ever eaten. I'm so glad I took a chance and tried that new recipe. : )

Ivory fondant base with handpainted and piped 'leaves' and handmade sugar decorations.
I was running late so I didn't have time to shoot it with the topper. I put the topper on at the venue (it's similar to the arrangement on the bottom) so my client is going to send me some photos.

Took a chance and tried a new vanilla cake recipe. I'm glad I did. It's so much better than my old one!
