Twins

Twins

I shot photos for my cousin's wedding... and got hired to do other weddings in the process!

Anyway meet the flower girl and her twin brother. They're adorable. The best part is that despite being twins, he is easily 5cm taller than her. As this has become a problem when people comment on how surprised they are that the two are twins and especially because she is bothered by being the littler one, her mom has taught her brother to respond "she's not short, she's just a little bit petite".

As someone petite myself, I died hearing that! They're so awesome... Now if I could only get them to stand still!

You've got the love

You've got the love

As some of you know, and for those of you who don't... I went on a safari trip at the end of my work term in South Africa. This is the first day I've had a chance to start going through my photos and let me tell you, its going to be a doozy of an undertaking seeing as how this game of "I spy" turned out to be A M A Z I N G!!! I really enjoyed myself and only wish my family could've been there with me.

This photo, while its still early in the game, may be my favourite. It exudes so much friendly-happy-lovely-good cheeredness (for lack of a better word) and I happen to have a soft spot for zebras (and elephants although they are MIA in this shot).

Fun fact: it is thought that zebras are stripped because it makes it difficult for predators to distinguish how many there are at a distance when they are all huddled together.

Mark and George

Mark and George

Just goofing around in Cambridge. This is a shot of my brother (aka Jorge or George) and our childhood friend Mark. Suffice it to say we had a lot of fun visiting the town. We're currently in London. Best part of the whole trip? My best friends Aaron and Kathy walking in to my hotel room and surprising me!

Yeah... I know I'm super lucky to have friends like these :D

You don't need to change...

You don't need to change...

your future's with us

This is me... In my room... For 10 more days!!!

Admitedly I'm excited to finish my placement and go travelling. A good friend of mine (read: we've known each other since gr 4) will be flying down so that we can hit up Cape Town (again!) and Kruger National Park. This will be followed by a visit to Cambridge and London (England!) before coming home for the holidays. Needless to say I'm very excited.

This photo probably doesn't convey that energy... which is fine, seeing as I wasn't going for that. Instead, its a take on my cottage's recent switch to energy saver light bulbs. How better to do it than upside down? Who needs a ladder? Pfft, not this girl.

Bumbles cont'd

I shamelessly love bees. I think they are beautiful and incredible little creatures. They do so much despite being so little. And then... there's that delicate factor. They are so fragile looking. Those wings look impossibly thin, there's no way that they could keep such a body in flight. Let's not forget that engineers still struggle to understand how they're flight patterns even work... and are a far cry from applying the tools of biomimicry to let us do so on a large scale.

Bees... I could rave about them all day!
