Goodbye 2005, Hello Two Thousand and Awesome!

Things I did not know:

1) The confetti is thrown down by people standing on top of the buildings surrounding the square. They just lob big lumps of confetti off the roof, and it magically spreads and swirls all over the place

2) Sometime the confetti doesn't spread and swirl and it lands in clumps. With a thud. Since it's just paper, it doesn't hurt, but it can surprise you. (A couple clumps hit my lens while I was shooting up.)
