Rainbow was started by a San Francisco-based ashram in the 70s. Unlike the Park Slope Food Co-op, it is worker-owned, as opposed to shopper owned. (All shoppers at the Park-Slop Food Coop must work, but anyone can shop at Rainbow.) In other respects, they share similar values/vibe.
