Wheat PortraitAnother shot from the wheat field mentioned in the previous picture. Strobist info: Compact 1200r on light stand high and to camera right with a 20 degree grid spot. Sun to camera left for a little fill and gold reflector to right for a little color. As I recall, the sun went behind the clouds for a few seconds during this shot so the rest of the field is underexposed, but it turned out nice for me. Uploaded on Apr 19, 2009 Setup shot for the Sea of GreenCompact 1200r on light stand as main and sun off to left as fill. I believe this was about 3/4 power. I dropped my iphone in the field during this shoot and didn't realize it for another two hours. I was shocked how hard it was to find our location given how fast the wheat filled in our spots. Thankfully, we were able to find the phone. Uploaded on Apr 19, 2009 Sea of GreenAnother portrait. This one was done a young growth wheat field in south Alabama. Strobist info: Compact 1200r high and to camera right of subject. See next image for the setup shot. The sun was to camera left. Uploaded on Apr 19, 2009 Portrait with cowsSeveral days ago, we spent two days shooting environmental portraits in the farm lands of rural Alabama. This particular setup pays tribute to some Zack Arias' techniques. Strobist info: Profoto Compact 1200 positioned high and to camera left with a 10 degree grid spot. Uploaded on Apr 19, 2009 Cows setupThis is the setup shot for the Portrait with Cows shot. The Compact 1200 is powered by a Vagabond II which works beautifully. It was a very windy day during this shoot and the battery provided extra support for the light stand to not take a tumble. The strobe has a 10 degree grid spot. Uploaded on Apr 19, 2009 |
