Death of a Cyberman

Death of a Cyberman

Picked up these adorable Doctor Who figures back in London at Forbidden Planet. Never realized they'd make such good photo subjects! Of course, the Doctor had to win this duel... it would just be wrong otherwise =) Processed in Lightroom.

South Bank & City Pier

South Bank & City Pier

Taken during that perfect time of day when the sun has just started going down and all those beautiful long shadows appear... again, edited in Lightroom.

From Wikipedia: "The London Bridge City Pier (also known as London Bridge Pier and City Pier) is situated on the south bank of the River Thames in London, UK, close to London Bridge. It serves as the main pier for the City of London and City Hall, headquarters of the London Assembly.

The pier is also close to Hay's Galleria, HMS Belfast and Borough Market.

In the near future, London Bridge City Pier will serve several major new office developments towers which are being built from 2009 - 2011, such as the Shard."

Leadenhall Market

Leadenhall Market

Once again, taken on the trip my sister and I took to London in April of this year =) Processed in Lightroom. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Leadenhall, here is the description from Wikipedia:

"Leadenhall Market is a covered market in the City of London, located in Gracechurch Street.

The market dates back to the fourteenth century. It is open from 07:00-late Monday to Friday, and sells fresh food; among the vendors there are cheesemongers, butchers and florists. Originally a meat, game and poultry market, it stands on what was the centre of Roman London.

The ornate roof structure, painted green, maroon and cream, and cobbled floors of the current building, designed in 1881 by Sir Horace Jones (who was also the architect of Billingsgate and Smithfield Markets), make the building a tourist attraction. It was used to represent the area of London near The Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley in the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It is also popular among local city workers."

Bird's Eye View

Bird's Eye View

This photo was taken from the top of the London eye on a picture perfect day in April of this year. My sister and I were visiting for a week and decided to take our 2nd trip on the eye (visited 5 years ago as well) with our good friend Rach who came down to London for the day!

Processed with my new favorite toy - Lightroom! Custom mixed preset. I'm having so much fun with it - I may actually post more regularly now. Though, I can't promise they won't all be of London, lol!

Yorktown Fireworks

Yorktown Fireworks

Better late than never right? This was taken in Mt. Pleasant, SC - I was watching the Patriot's Point fireworks celebration from the brand new pier in the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. They were shot off of the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier. It was a gorgeous evening and this lovely display went on for over 25 minutes!
