Without a Clue!![]() ![]() Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, Bandar Seri Bagawan, Brunei
This is a scan of an old film shot that I took a number of years ago while travelling Borneo. I had not intented to go to Brunei. In fact, I had never heard of the place. Prior to this trip, the extent of my travels was the odd jaunt down to the US and one cruise in Mexico. I had just quit my job and planned to go travelling for 6 months. I went to a local travel agent and bought a ticket with 5 stops in various cities in Asia. I had chosen 4 stops and needed to add one more. I suggested that the travel agent choose one more stop. She chose Kota Kinabalu. I was to land in Kota Kinabalu and fly out of Kuching (at the other end of Borneo) one month later. When I landed in Kota Kinabalu, I had no lonely Planet guide book and no idea where to go! To this day, after many travels, that trip through Borneo still remains one of my favorite trips. I hiked to the top of Mount Kinabalu (4,101 meters high), spelunked the Niah caves, learned to Scuba Dive and ate some of the best Malaysian food that I have ever tasted! Scanned, used PS to fix "blemishes, applied gaussian blur to one layer to hide the grains of the film/scan. CommentsScott Kinmartin

The blur adds a really nice atmosphere to the shot, it's a stunner.
