spring cleaning, ulnar nerve palsy

this goes round the palm and 4th, 5th fingers
this soft material stuff is to keep the hypersensitive areas from having clothing or the elastic end of your jacket rub against the wrist
In the right year, I coulda tried to pass this off as the tube socks for arm Mission dyke hipster trend. But it was really to keep my elbow padded. Looked particularly stunning with evening wear and tank tops.
Occupational therapists do a lot of
melting and other things that seems like paper mache. There were paraffin
wax treatments. Basically Occupational therapy is like pre school for adults where we'd learn how to squish silly putty, pick up buttons and put them in a container. The OTs r important.

Cleaning out drawers during spring cleaning I came across a lot of splints I've used over the last few years healing from an accident.
There were more formed to my arm and elbow and one real medieval torture machine that you have to rent that forces the elbow to bend (breaks the scar tissue I think) slowly at night.

The finger splinting is because the 4th + 5th fingers claw. I am thrilled to say mine don't anymore (though the nerve + it's friendly muscles is still in "palsy"....doesn't work so great)

Surgeons do the stuff inside (shop but for your bones) and occupational therapists make this stuff (kindergarten and arts + crafts for your hand). The OTs spend an awful lot more time with you and deal with all the frustration that comes from your loss.
