Oh my god, I know that look!! Recently, when my daughter wore. me. down. with the "when can I get a puppy?" question, I made the mistake of saying "maybe in three months". The next day a 90 day calendar appeared on her bedroom wall on which she literally marked off the days, prisoner-style. Oy.

Maybe you could tell her about a girl you knew who had a dog once and lost a toenail from it?
