My heights (and those of my much bigger brother) were marked on the doorframe in pencil, but I think indentations were made in the wood in doing so. So, though several coats of paint have been added since, here and there you can still discern a dent.

Oh no! We did that when we left our first house and I'm just such a dork that I actually wrote down the dates, heights and names so that one day I can add it to the growth chart I've semi-stenciled in the new kitchen. Seeing as how I haven't finished the growth chart and we've been here almost a year...it might be a while.
