Maybe call back the amazing stylist and ask for tips. I did that the last time I got my hair cut, because it never looked remotely the same the next day. Turns out I always had my hair parted "wrong" during blowdrying. Maybe they used some product that makes all the difference.
Oh, if only we could keep the stylists in the closet with the hairspray. That would be awesome. It is always hard coming down from haircut high. It looks so fabulous here that it certaily looks great right now and will look fabulous again.

To fight the mushroom hair;
A) don't use a lot of conditioner. Put it on the ends and rub it through and then rinse. Don't let it sit on there.
B) if you blow dry, don't flip your head and blow dry. Point the blowdryer DOWN on your hair (holding the dryer above your head, not lifting it up and drying from the root. You want the shaft to blow down. Ha, shaft)
C. Product. Some kind of styling wax is your new best friend. It also looks like they maybe used some kind of shine enhancer, like a Sebastian Laminates gel? That stuff is awesome.

Emilym has great advice. Also, ceramic hair straightening iron also comes in handy, and I've found it's the only way I can get my curly/frizzy/wavy hair to look silky smooth like that. I don't even need to put on any hair products after I use it.
