This Old House

This Old House by Kurt Christensen.
Stumbled upon this massive old building near Hunter Mountain in Upstate, New York. This shot doesn't come close to capturing the entire building.

As noted in the comments this is this building was the Cold Spring Hotel. You can find more info inthe comments below.

That's never a farmhouse, it would have to be a hotel of sorts, but tastefully captured dereliction!

Seems to be a great place. Would be great to see it in better shape. Could also be the setting of a horror movie.

WOW! Just imagine all the things this old place has seen. All the people that have stayed here. All the people that have touched it's front door. Now, just a forgotten piece of beautiful history.

Thanks for all of the comments. You are right, it probably was not a farm house.
I have not been inside, but if I am ever in that neck of the woods, I am going to try and get closer.

How different this must have looked when it was thriving. The overcast sky adds to the impression that it died many years ago.

Houses like this are a dying breed. I once had the opportunity as a kid to go inside one of these abandoned monsters in the 1970's..... but was shaking in my shoes in the first steps. Boarding houses are often bought by developers for the land, then left to rot until ordered to demolish.. Seems this was a hotel or boarding house of sorts Great shot!

My wife and I came across this by accident about a month ago, and I snapped what I could, without trespassing. Set here.

People in the Catskills flickr pool told me it's a former hotel, Cold Spring Hotel. Further web searches confirm.

It would make a great local spook house for Halloween, but I bet it's unsafe.
