This is blood from whales... not too romantic in my eyes. Great shot!

Ah, come on. Think of Lord Byron or the goth subculture. Blood and death is very romantic.

So is the sustainable harvest of Mother Nature's resources.

I believe jungl thomas is ironic, and this is indeed not a romantic shot. On the contrary, it is an attempt to document the 'real color' of bloody sea water. The romantic version is

thanks...you have something going on with gray and red yourself - less clear if your red is blood or not...

      Amazing shot...
I don't see it very romantic neither...
Whales are animals with a very sophisticated nervous system and intricate social relationships. I'm totally against this slaughter.
Out of this I still think at the Faeroe Islands as a mystic and romantic place.

Where on the Faroe islands is this?
I'm studying the Faroe islands for a short art project. I'm including the whale hunting in it.

      Cool thanks very much :)
I'm trying to pick something for each place on the islands.
      Like a legend/where a pioneer artist lived/worked.
I havn't got anything for the little north east islands yet or Skuvoy and the island south of that. I understand if your busy, but any thoughts?

    15. Jan Egil Kristiansen 45 months ago | reply

For Skúvoy, I think the obvious choice is Sigmundur Brestisson.

And for Stóra Dímun, Annika í Dimun is an equally obvious choice. Executive summary: Her father lost her in a game of cards, she killed her husband and was executed for murder.

Both stories fit in with my Sea of Blood theme...
