The Adventures the Mischievous Maker Monkey

The Adventures the Mischievous Maker Monkey

Several months ago I bought this little sock monkey from a gift shop in the building where I worked. I admit that his button eyes, which made his look appear vacant, can at times be a bit frightening. But I took him up to the Dallas Makerspace to use while testing out my Canon AL-1 again. What started was a series about this monkey and the very cool maker group I am apart of.

With our recent move to a new location (recent as within the last 6 months) it dawned on me I hadn't brought the monkey up to the new space. I bought a roll of film I could develop in our darkroom and started shooting. At first I thought there was no way I could fill a whole roll and develop all in one night.

That is the funny thing about fun, it makes you lose track of time and presence of place. I was quickly out of shots but full of ideas. The series was not only fun but showed just how much our space has grown since the last shoot. So many things and places for M3 to get into. Oh yeah...and I named him. Mischievous Maker Monkey-theme song pending.
