The biggest problem was people walking in front of the tripod, totally aloof to my HDR quest. Since it takes five minutes to explain HDR to people, it was not efficient to stop everyone in the area and give them a short dissertation on why it is important for them not to get in front of my tripod...

Super. Like a frozen moment of reality. The realism you manage to convey in your HDR work is quite staggering - once again, well done. I've only been to Times Square once and only briefly at that, but this shot is evocative of that moment. Except for that furious blue sky, I guess - I was there later in the evening, so it was all black :-).

I think this is one of the few HDR photographs that doesn't look too unrealistic. It straddles that fine line between belief and disbelief about how much tonal image a range should have, which is right where HDR should be in my opinion.

This one was 5 exposures. I got rid of some of the ticker blur by remixing the original Raw from the shortest exposure.
