Entering the Pyramid
I know people always harp on how campy Vegas is, but I think it's all totally cool. All the textures, the interior design, the layers of vision -- they all add up to some very interesting optics. I assume that most people that walk around these places in don't notice all the incredible design, but I know you guys do... just like me. I had unexpected free time one night, so I went out to occupy myself with a bit of exploration. I was staying at THE Hotel, and walked next door to the Luxor. Upon entering the complex from the bottom, I was greeted with this view of the inside of the pyramid.

Yes, Las Vegas does have a high level of visual appeal architecturally ... those slot machines are pretty flashy too. Really the diversity between each hotel on such a short strip of road is truly amazing. Great interior capture.

Love it in Vegas. I last went there in August to get married, yet again, from Germany. Because of the time change we walked around really early in the morning. It was pretty empty at 6am and I got some cool shots without all the people. If you get a chance watch the special features on the Oceans 13 dvd. They have one about how they design casinos to keep you in there. Alot of interesting things about lighting.

well dude, you should definatly come over and take an HDR of the actual pyramid ( among other really cool things here in egypt ) i'd love to see how it would turn out!

Yeah the Luxor is awesome, albeit pretty old compared to a lot of the other hotels. I love it though

I was just there and this does capture the feel for inside the Luxor. You really should get a tilt shift lens to go with that d3x.

Really cool shot Trey.....still can't understand how you get these great shots with no people in them....especially in Vegas!

Nice shot. The wide angle looks great. How did you manage to get a shot off with no people in it. Your right, most people don't even bother looking at the architectural details!

The Luxor has to be one of the oddest buildings I've ever been in. It was pretty empty though, I think because it's so far down the strip.

The Luxor is the best hotel ever. The inside of it is just so inspiring. It's not the best place to stay, but the view over the lobby is something else!

An excellent interior capture of our favorite destination for Cool Romance, High Adventure, and Hot Action. I like the nice subtle touch of HDR applied to this scene.
