WOW picture. but what is this??

<----- That is the sun burning through a foggy layer of clouds - weird huh?

what in the WORLD is this red ball/thing in the air?!

I like the way the cloud moves up with the temple

The raging waters matches the clouds

I arrived into Thailand this weekend and have been in content-creation mode non stop. I did take a chance back at the hotel to process this one picture I thought y'all would enjoy.

(and yes that sun picture is real... it was burning through the bottom while still streaming light over the top).

This picture is of Wat Arun, a famous Buddhist temple in Thailand. I took it from a really cool little Italian restaurant across the way that is attached to a boutique hotel named "Arun Residence". I will stay at this place next time - be sure to get the balcony room at the top if you come... it's just over $100 a night.

why is there a white photoshopped glow coming from behind the central tower. I believe the bottom half of the photo but the top couds look like they've been photoshopped on and that white glow is the tell tale sign.

Well - it was photoshopped for cropping and detail enhancing. But most of that white glow comes from a combination of the sun being so low and partially illuminating a low fog layer, and the HDR process which brightened the area between the dark temple and the darker upper clouds.
