The Elevator that Awaited me after Chernobyl

I had a relaxing weekend and was finally able to go back and look at some shots from an ill-advised but very fun trip to Chernobyl. My mom is still not too happy about that one...

This is the "cozy" elevator that awaited me after I got finished with the radiation detox and cleanup area. Note that it was nothing like T'Pol and Travis, if that scene rings a bell...

Ukraine was a rough place, to say the least... that little red light on the elevator was a little alarming since I did not know if it meant there was a problem or if it was ready.

Ya... I do recall that scene. :) Too bad you're trip through detox wasn't like that 'eh?? lol!! (( Actually - wasn't it Trip now that I think about it??? ))

I see someone else has already mentioned the TARDIS but it really does have that look about it! I really like the detail of the panel in the bottom left corner.

The warm glow of the interior makes the lift look rather inviting!

What a creepy looking elevator. Magnificent photograph. I cannot believe you traveled there. It had to feel eerie. I can't even believe they let people go there. What did the atmosphere feel like? I read your story and wow!
How long were you there within the contaminated areas? How many RADs were you exposed to total do you think? You didn't feel nauseous or anything when you got back? Sorry for all the questions, it's so intriguing and yet so scary at the same time. It must have really felt weird and eerie. I don't know if you've ever played the game or are familiar with Silent Hill but thats what the photographs remind me of. You are very very talented and very brave!
