The Runoff at Cutoff

The Runoff at Cutoff by Stuck in Customs.
I walked with this neuroscientist from Houston and a bunch of other smarty pants on a 5 hour hike around Yellowstone and over a mountain range. We didn't bring enough water, so we would stop at snow runoff areas like this.

Regulars get tired of the following daily message, but if I remove it, then I keep getting the same kinda emails: This is from My Tutorial right here - I have over 16,500 unread emails - sorry but I am too swamped - but most of you ask for that tutorial, so there it is! :)

can we say wow all together please? I mean what does this image have to offer? Honestly, the perception is twisted. Things are moving (water, grass, clouds, earth) yet you have still rocks and wooden stump. I'm impressed by the composition and the relevance of the distant subjects. Marvelous!

With views like this the five hour hike must have flown by. Lucky you, Trey, to get to do this. Wonderful work, as always. The clouds are quite awesome ;-)

I kept the camera Raw settings from your tutorial and it is astounding. The Wright Cyclone shot I posted used it and it looked so much like an HDR I didn't take it much further. The shot is on the explore page and it's generated a large number of views. I'm grateful. Oh ya, the shot is a wonder of beauty.

Beautiful! I have always enjoyed your inspiring work! Realize you will not likely get a chance to respond to comments, but was curious if you are considering holding out for the D700 vice D3 you were planning to pick-up, give the smaller size (considering your frequent travel)?

Beautiful shot. We just got back from Yellowstone last week where we did some hiking. We always carry plenty of water and a water pump with a microfiltration system lest we ever need one.
