This is Ahmed

This is Ahmed by Stuck in Customs.
Ahmed's dream is to see Israel wiped off the face of the map. With dark eyes, he stares out across a sea of men yelling "Praise Allah".

Ahmed is currently attending a Hezbollah rally in Paris, holding a poster of a burned Palastinian child.

It's also worth noting that many Israeli PMs have had the dream of wiping Palestine off the map, and sadly it seems they have largely succeeded. Curiously, many people seem oblivious to these sentiments, though they are all too aware of extreme statements from the other side.

You really shouldn't be surprised that he didn't punch you in the face while you sang the Star Spangled Banner while taking his photo. Even in the refugee camps of Palestine where Israel blocks Palestinians from receiving a good education, you'll find that those refugees happen to be acutely aware of international politics surrounding the Israel/Palesine issue. While most of them are extremely angry at U.S. policy toward Israel and Palestine, they are able to differentiate between the ignorance of the misinformed American public, and the policy-makers.

ZhengHe says:

I understand all too well, but there's a reason I posted it here. If you are going to talk about Ahmed's "dream to wipe Israel off the map", they you should explain why he has that dream (if he really does), and also show that Israel doesn't just dream of wiping Arabs off the map, it has worked very hard for decades to make it a reality. Otherwise you just perpetuate the false idea that Arabs irrationally hate Jews simply because they are Jews.

Anyhow, here is the link to the censored photos, posted on the blog of a prominent and well-regarded Carnegie human rights activist. Hopefully SiC will not delete this, as people can choose whether to go to that page or not before seeing the photos.

Jonathan Harel, it is terrible that people want to see Israel destoryed, but not nearly as terrible as the attrocities being committed by the Israeli army today. I don't condone either sides actions, but I will never overlook the disproportiante crimes being committed against the other. You know what disproportion I speak of.

Anyways, I absoloutly love the photo, fantastic portrait, has alot of character and emotion attached to it. His expression is priceless. Great photo.

It is an incredible picture -- Violence has never been the answer, there needs to be an effort for real and peaceful solutions rather than the insolent abuse of powers by people who have more money than good sense. From these people I don't ever want to hear another word about the abuse of poor jews, I have seen with my own eyes what they do to innocent mothers and their children.
Posted 33 months ago. ( permalink )

view profile

dbenisrael says:

"What they do to innocent mothers and their children" I am glad that you are categorizng all the jews in the world, into one title as "they". What you have said here is very reminicent of what was said by Hitler, Stalin, and all the other Anti Semitic nuts for the last 2,000 years. I hope for your sake that you do not categorize other ethnic groups as "they".

For someone who is trying to be righteous you sound more like a bigot.

And dont worry about the "poor Jews" we can take care of ourselves without idiotic and arrogant comments by NICKI NUCKI people who are to busy worrying about the poor Arab Muslims to notice that there are Billions of people in the world who dont have the Freedom of speech and Religon.
Posted 33 months ago. ( permalink )

view profile

Nicki Nucki Erdbeereis says:

I'm sure the jews are not categorizing when they throw BOMBS into hospitals, when they fire bomb little children, burning innocent lives -- because, "they" are not wholesome little jewish children.
Rather than worrying about the billions of people in the world, maybe you should invest some energy in educating yourself on what life is meant to be, rather than what some powerhungry pinheads tell you life should be centered around. Good luck with that.
