Melee Island

Melee Island. This is the feeling I get from this shot. Melee Island was the place where the Monkey Island adventure would start. Monkey Island is a great game from Lucasfilm, which I used to play back in the nineties. It was always night, in Melee Island, the only lighting being provided by lit windows and street lights. Such a mystical atmosphere!

Great association! The narrow houses are reminiscent of the slightly out-of-proportion architecture of Monkey Island, which is one of my most favourite games. The first two versions are the best, the third one is O.K. I never knew there was a fourth sequel until I recently discovered it on ebay by chance. It always seemed that a lot of effort and passion went into creating the story and translating it into a computer game. Thanks for reviving nice memories!
Unfortunately music cannot be embedded in Flickr. It would be great if one could view this photo and listen to the Melee Island soundtrack. Though I also like this photo without music, as the colours and composition are beautiful!
I also like your sense of humour ("good luck in straightening Amsterdam"). ;-) hehe
