French knots and colonial knots

French knots and colonial knots by stitchingbushwalker.
I decided to explore the difference between the two knots and different threads. The top row of French knots is one wrap, while the bottom row is two wraps. Threads from left to right: ribbon floss, Kreinik braid #8, 2 mm silk ribbon, Pearl No 3, 5, 8, some thick cotton, broder, some rayon, Caron watercolours (one strand) and finally 1, 2, 3and 4 strands of cotton embroidery floss. I did all the embroidery and when I was cropping the photo, my husband pointed out the spelling mistake - too late now!
