[09/52] Some days life feels like you're trying to stop a running train.. with your bare hands.. by Stian Eikeland

[09/52] Some days life feels like you're trying to stop a running train.. with your bare hands..

Another fisheye shot, taken the same place as this :)

This is one of those that really should be seen LARGE on BLACK..

Lighting: 3 flashes, one laying on the ground directly under camera pointed at my head. Two behind me, one pointing at my back and one pointing straight up with stofen. PT04-cn triggers.

If I were to do it again, I would probably change the lighting around a bit, the rimlight + the flat frontlight makes it look a bit fake, like it's cut and pasted.

A fisheye shot from a little urbex, please view this one Large on Black :)

DIY metro for sale, includes old abandoned underground railway and pedal-powered trolley (might need some minor service..)

Lighting: 3 flashes, one left, one right (crossing each other), one high above cam pointing down the tunnel. PT04-cn triggers.

Also check out this self-portrait from the same place :)

Sunset over askøy bridge by Stian Eikeland

Sunset over askøy bridge

This is Askøy brige, which crosses byfjorden and connects the city of Bergen to Askøy (island). It's a suspension bridge, just over 1 km (3400 ft) long.

The photo is taken from Kvarven fortress, same place as the picture I posted yesterday.

[08/52] Hold it right there, punk! by Stian Eikeland

[08/52] Hold it right there, punk!

This weeks shot (ok, one day late..) is from Kvarven fortress, which used to protect the shipping lane into Bergen. It was lost to the germans during WW2, and was then incorporated into Festung Bergen. You can see some old pictures of it here.

Today kvarven fortress is left as a war memorial, with only a few of the big guns still standing (this one is a 21cm St. Chamond)

Lighting: One sb-28 from each side, one sb-28 w/ red gel under camera towards the barrel (was going to put it inside the barrel, but couldn't get it to trigger). Triggered by pt-04cn

Bryggen (the wharf) by Stian Eikeland

Bryggen (the wharf)

Meet Bryggen (the wharf) in Bergen, it's a series of really old hanseatic buildings in the main harbour area. Back in the days these buildings used to be filled with goods such as fish going to Europe by ship.

Today Bryggen is on the UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage sites, and is probably one of the most visited tourist-attractions in Bergen.

Cam: Pentax MX (w/40mm pancake)
Film: Rollei Retro 400s in Xtol
