Poinsettia Pinocchio

Pinocchio statue in the hub in front of Cinderella Castle. Disney had created poinsettia "trees" near each of the small statues which made for great backgrounds.

Grand Christmas

The Grand Floridian resort lobby all decorated for Christmas in its distinct Victorian style at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida.

Just past the tree you can see the Disney Photopass photographer's strobe light (see note). Families in holiday dress were having their portraits taken with the tree as a festive background. I'm sure there are some very nice Christmas cards being sent out this year with those photos.

Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

My countdown is now T-minus 10 days. I've been to Walt Disney World during their Christmas holiday time twice in the last three years. The entire resort transforms with holiday decorations, music and special festivities.

No display is more colorful than the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Setup on the Streets of America backlot area, Disney brought one of the most personal expressions of the Christmas spirit and enhanced it by adding musical "dancing" lights periodically each evening.

Christmas Bicycles

From the 2008 Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights display in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Used the Nikon SB-600 Speedlight in Rear Sync mode and at its lowest power setting of -3. The flash filled in the dark areas just before the shutter closed after a 1/4 second exposure to build up the ambient light of the display.
