Drips On A Drop

Drips On A Drop

Managed a break in the rain a few weeks back.
--
So ventured down to my local park in search of some Snowdrops, ideal conditionas as it was still overcast.
--
Found it tricky to get a good angle even with the tripod splayed to ground level.
--
Then I came across a fallen tree with the snow drops growing up from the raised root base.
--
This is one from the set I took that morning, a single Snowdrop with rain drops on it.

Bullet

Bullet

Like a speeding bullet, this Male Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs) flew right past.
With a wee turn of the tail to correct his flight path and he was off.
--
The Chaffinch's large double white wing bars, white tail edges easily identify this 14–16 cm long species.

The Major

The Major

Great Tit (Parus major)
--
A distinctive bird, with a black head and neck, prominent white cheeks, olive upperparts and yellow underparts, with some variation amongst the numerous subspecies.
--
It is predominantly insectivorous in the summer, but will consume a wider range of food items in the winter months including small hibernating bats.

Rising Sun

Rising Sun

Feeling pretty low with the poor weather and not being able to get out shooting.
--
So back to the archives to have a play with some image from a previous holiday.
--
Taken from the rocks at the resort of Es Canar on the island of Ibiza.
Brings back great memories, with the family still tucked up in bed I would sit waiting in anticipation to see the sun rise over the horizon.
--
Have a great week.

City Lights Bigger City

City Lights Bigger City

A view of the Clyde Arc (known locally as the Squinty Bridge), is a road bridge spanning the River Clyde into the City of Glasgow, in west central Scotland.
--
A prominent feature of the bridge is its innovative curved design and the way that it crosses the river at an angle.
--
--
We are off into the city this afternoon for a birthday gathering, last train home ;-)

Happy Birthday Denise x

One of a series taken a few weeks ago while teaching a friend how to go full manual and doing a few night shots of the bridge.
