One more from a bright moonlit night in Death Valley... I wasn't going to post any more from this night but the stark and simple nature of this composition sort of appealed to me....

Sunset,shadows and textures at the dunes , seemed to lend itself to B&W

It was a perfectly clear evening in Death Valley Friday, so with no drama in the sky we turned to details in the dunes....Had to walk a fair distance to get away to areas of "clean" dunes as with a relatively mild winter this year the dunes get a lot of foot traffic....

Another view from Mesquite dunes on a brightly moonlit night. Sandman found this nice area of hardpan while out wondering the dunes for a sunset spot....

Made a run over to Death Valley yesterday and stuck around after sunset to shoot for awhile...a 3/4 moon made for some interesting night time landscapes.
I used an SB800 on this to fill the foreground, but realized as it got darker the moon provided plenty of light....
